Tangram Appointed Official Evaluators for Creative Newham Place Partnership Programme
Creative Newham and the University of East London (UEL) are pleased to announce the appointment of Tangram as the official evaluation partner for the Newham Place Partnership Programme 2024–2027.
Tangram’s appointment marks a pivotal step in ensuring the programme’s long-term impact is fully understood, documented, and shared with the wider sector. Tangram is a strategic consultancy that harnesses the power of culture to drive change, bringing their strategic expertise to lead the independent summative evaluation of the threeyear programme.
Their work will assess how the Newham Place Partnership programme has supported cross-sector collaboration, community wellbeing, and economic resilience, particularly through its innovative cross-sector Cultural Producers model and Powerful Partnerships strand.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tangram to the Newham Place Partnership team. Their deep experience in place-based cultural work, combined with creative and participatory evaluation methods, makes them the perfect partner to help us reflect, learn and advocate for the work taking place here in Newham,”
- Professor Dominic Hingorani, Creative Newham Place Partnership Strategic Lead, UEL.
“Appointing Tangram marks an exciting new phase for the Newham Place Partnership. As an East London-based team with a strong track record of capturing the value of cultural work in complex, place-based contexts, they’re an ideal partner. We’re looking forward to working with them to surface insights, amplify community voices, and strengthen the case for longterm investment in Newham’s creative future.”
- Sanaz Amidi, Chair, Creative Newham
"Working with Creative Newham presents a fantastic opportunity for Tangram to deepen our connection with Newham’s vibrant communities and engage in collaborative, co-created evaluation that delivers meaningful insights into the Newham Place Partnership programme. With our extensive experience across Newham and East London, we bring strong local knowledge and a nuanced understanding to this project, ensuring our approach is both relevant and impactful. We’re especially excited to deliver a two-pillar evaluation: collaborating with Cultural Producers to infuse creativity into the learning process, while exploring fresh ways to surface and celebrate the Powerful Partnerships strand working at the heart of this alliance."
- Jamie Reece, Partner, Tangram
Tangram will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive summative evaluation by July 2027, alongside a series of creative outputs that make the programme’s learning and impact accessible to communities, funders, and policy-makers alike. With this appointment, Creative Newham takes another step toward shaping a nationally recognised model for cultural regeneration, demonstrating how local creative ecosystems can drive inclusive growth, innovation, and civic pride.
