This September, Creative Newham joined the British Council’s Saudi Now programme to explore how creativity and community can drive change in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, a region where ancient heritage meets new cultural ambition. Meeting with educators, artists and cultural leaders, the team discovered shared values around creativity, inclusion and local empowerment.

We had the pleasure of connecting with Jane Williams, Founder & Ceo of The Magpie Project, to talk about the incredible work they do throughout East London. Jane is currently leading as Community Host on our ‘Arts & Homelessness’ project with our Cultural Producers.

Today, we spotlight the theme: Arts & Social Housing, in partnership with The Magpie Project, a grassroots charity supporting mums and children under five who are experiencing housing precarity. The collaboration is led by CEO and Founder Jane Williams.
