Activoté
An exciting opportunity for young people and the wider community is coming to The SOURCE this autumn term. Learning Stages has partnered with the University of East London, Newham Youth Empowerment Services, and Culture Within Newham to present Activoté, a FREE, fully funded theatre production.
The performance follows four starving characters who compete for the audience’s votes to win food. What begins as anarchic, slapstick fun takes a darker turn as two characters discover they can control the outcome by deciding who gets to vote.
With the government considering lowering the voting age to 16, the production is especially timely, inspiring young audiences to reflect on their role within their community and how they can take meaningful steps to make a positive difference.
